Attorney
Corcoran is a graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center and has been practicing law
in New Hampshire since 1986 and is admitted to practice before all New Hampshire
Courts, including the United States District Court for the District of New
Hampshire. Attorney Corcoran received his Bachelor of Arts degree (with
honors) in American Studies from St. Michael's College in 1971 and a Master of
Education degree in Secondary Education from Boston State College in 1974.
Prior to
attending law school, Attorney Corcoran worked in the fine jewelry and metals
manufacturing industries in various supervisory capacities in which he was
responsible for establishing and implementing production and quality control
standards and procedures. Attorney Corcoran also performed extensive substitute
teaching on the middle and high school levels.
Attorney
Corcoran has a varied litigation practice concentrating primarily in the areas
of personal injury, family and divorce, workers' compensation, and insurance
coverage law and general civil litigation. Attorney Corcoran has represented
clients on numerous occasions before the New Hampshire Department of Labor in
workers' compensation cases and has represented both employers and employees
before the New Hampshire Commission For Human Rights in sexual harassment and
discrimination cases. Attorney Corcoran has extensive experience in family law
and has tried numerous divorce cases to conclusion. Attorney Corcoran has also
had experience in insurance defense in environmental coverage cases and with
private mediation.
Attorney
Corcoran has also had experience with the filing of appeals and with the writing
of briefs for submission to the New Hampshire Supreme Court, notably in the case
of Hickingbotham v. Burke and Appeal of the Londonderry Neighborhood
Coalition.
Attorney
Corcoran is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the New Hampshire
Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Society For Legal History. Attorney
Corcoran is also a member of the Labor and Employment and Family Law Sections of
the New Hampshire Bar Association.
